Take an old all cotton T-shirt and a clothes iron. Put the iron on the hottest setting, put the cotton fabric over the melted plastic, put the hot iron onto the fabric. Check it and repeat. If you have a pencil point propane torch and feel lucky you can use it directly to fry the plastic, tends to discolor pipe if you use too much heat. You can also use a soldering iron and the cloth trick.
